Management of Acute Ischemic stroke
- Treatment & preservation of vital function contitute the basis of all therapeutic measures in acute stroke
- Adequate blood oxygenation with normal respiratory function is required
- if poor ventilation drive, use mechanical hyperventilation
- IV fluids with normal saline (avoid dextrose) should be administered to maintain euvolemic fluid status
- Fever can be treated with antypiretic, but investigate the source of infection
- Blood glucose levels should be kept at <150 mg/dL (8.3 mmol/L)

Symptom reduction for Chronic stable angina
- Short acting nitrates should be offered to every patient as sublingual tablet or spray
- Should be used for accute episodes or as a prophylaxis against an attack
- Combination of nitrate, beta-blocker, trimetazidine have shown also improved angina relief.
Invasive procedures & surgical intervention may improve symptoms if medical treatment is fails.
